Extra Shopping Day Pushes E-Commerce Transactions Up 43 Percent for the Week
The e-commerce shopping season ended last week with continued momentum, as online shoppers kept up much of the frenetic pace from earlier in the season, according to latest data from the 2009 Chase Paymentech Pulse Index. The added shopping day also pushed up the numbers for the full season. Compared to last year, transactions are up 29.3%, sales are up 17.7%, and average ticket value is down by 8.9%.
